This work in progress is the evolution of my same titled slideshow. Intimacy and the way we practice it is shaped by the social, cultural, and historical contexts in which we exist. These structures can emphasize hierarchical relationships that perpetuate notions of power and dominance. This perpetuation of power dynamics can create a loop where power imbalances persist and are replicated across generations. The unequal distribution of power in relationships is directly linked to broader societal and political contexts, shaping social hierarchies, policy development, reproductive rights and more.
My project is a socially engaged research that involves seeking for individuals, couples and polycules of all kinds that are interested in sharing their experience with intimacy and the power dynamics that form in their relationship with me. In a safe environment where I also share my experiences, the process includes various forms of documentation—interviews, recordings, personal rituals captured on video, and both digital and 35mm photographs.
By sharing vulnerability a new reclaimed narrative emerges. (2024 - )
