Malo Sutra” in Croatian means “probably never”. It’s an old time saying, commonly used by the inhabitants of a small rural town in Croatia called Daruvar. I arrived there to do some volunteering work after having spent 10 months rehabilitating from two car crashes i was responsible for. Going there to volunteer was the first thing I did, once i regained my mobility, feeling that I was alive by chance and had a karmic debt to pay. Driven by my own savior complex and privilege, I thought that I was there to save a community that was far from needing to be saved. On the contrary, it was me who needed this more than anyone else. This project is my testament to my encounters there.
